Conservation Picture Framing and Specialist Glazing
For valuable, historic or irreplaceable artwork, choosing the correct framing materials is particularly important.
Salix Fine Framing offers conservation-quality mountboards, specialist mounting techniques and a selection of glazing options, including UV-protective and low-reflection glass.
I can also examine older framed pictures where the existing mounts, backing materials or glazing may no longer be suitable.
Where possible, the aim is to protect the original artwork while retaining the character of the piece.
Picture Framing for Mansfield Artists, Collectors and Businesses
In addition to framing for private customers, I welcome enquiries from artists, photographers, collectors, galleries, museums and businesses throughout the Mansfield area.
My work as a Gallery Assistant at Mansfield Museum has given me experience of handling and displaying historic objects and artwork, alongside my own specialist framing work.
This background is particularly useful when considering how best to present unusual, delicate or historically significant items.
Whether you require a single bespoke frame or have a larger collection to display, I'm happy to discuss your requirements.
Why Choose Salix Fine Framing?
Unlike a conventional high-street framing shop, Salix operates by appointment.
This allows me to give each customer my full attention without interruptions or the pressure of other customers waiting.
We can take the time to compare different frame mouldings, mount colours and glazing options, ensuring that the finished frame complements the artwork rather than overwhelming it.
Every frame is made individually, with care and attention to detail.
Picture Framing for Mansfield, Warsop and Mansfield Woodhouse
My workshop at Shirebrook Business Centre is conveniently situated for customers travelling from:
Mansfield, Mansfield Woodhouse, Warsop, Market Warsop, Forest Town, Clipstone, Rainworth, Pleasley, Shirebrook and surrounding villages.
As Salix operates by appointment, please contact me before visiting.
For larger or specialist projects, collection, delivery or an on-site consultation may also be possible by arrangement.
How Much Does Picture Framing Cost?
The cost of bespoke picture framing depends on several factors, including the size of the artwork, the frame moulding, mountboard, glazing and any specialist mounting requirements.
Rather than offering a single price based purely on dimensions, I prefer to provide an individual quotation based on your requirements.
If you have a particular budget in mind, please mention it when making your enquiry.
